This week we visit Fittleworth C of E Village School, Petworth Primary School, Dorset House in Bury and Bury CE Primary School. In our harvest assembly we're encouraging the children to be thankful, not only for our food, but also to recognise and appreciate the people who work hard to get the food to our plate. We ask the children to identify some unusual looking food and also to tell us where certain fruit and vegetables grow. The one that blows everyone's mind are the peanuts! Do you know where they grow? On the ground, under the ground, or in a tree? We're loving the reactions, not just from the children, but also from some of the staff!! 🤣 ... See MoreSee Less

Our first assemblies of the new school year begin today, with visits to Amberley C of E Primary, St James C of E Primary in Coldwaltham and Steyning C of E Primary School. Then tomorrow we're at St Mary's CE Primary and Durrington Junior School. In our new assembly, using the theme of "Harvest" we are going to encourage our pupils to be thankful and to practise gratitude for what we have. But we're going deeper than that. We want our children to understand the effort and work that goes into the growing and producing of our food, and to appreciate and be thankful for the people who work hard so that we can have food on our plates. We're going to encourage the children to minimise food waste, and to live simply, so others may simply live. ... See MoreSee Less
